President Obama will be in Houston at Minute Maid Park (blocks from the GRB) Friday at some time between 3:30-6:30 so please note that there will be some road closures.  March 10 & 11 hosted at the George R Brown Convention Center and several outlying sites in the Houston area as needed (see map of venues for outlying sites).  Note:  All teams will play in the convention center at least one day.

Check schedule after noon on Friday for any last-minute changes.

  • Saturday Offsite Play:  12′s will play at FAST Complex Saturday (the list of teams playing in the am/pm waves will be posted by March 2nd).
  • Sunday Offsite Play:  14 Elite – FAST Complex, 13 Club – Willowbrook or Texas Tornados, 14 Club – Skyline or GRB, 15 Club – Spike Sport or GRB

TEAM CHECK IN:
Coaches passes will be available for pickup on Friday night between 6pm-8pm at the main tournament desk between Hall A & B or Saturday 7am-9am or Saturday noon – 2pm at the “Coaches” entrance in Hall C.  This year, Cross Court Classic is “going green” so there will not be any paper copies handed out to the coaches prior to the event.  The only information that might be required is if you have a roster changes after AES has closed on March 6th).  These need to be given to the main tournament desk between Hall A&B at the convention center.  12s Coaches – pick up your pass at FAST Complex on Saturday.

SCHEDULES/RESULTS:
Schedules & results will be available on Advanced Event Systems.  There will be a bank of computers near each tournament desk with AES available.  If you see an error in results, please tell the tournament staff so that the scoresheet can be reviewed and the system can be corrected.  Remember Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday, March 11th.

TICKETS:
Weekend passes will be sold for $8 per person.  Ages 12 & under get in free.  Cash only, no checks or credit cards.  There is an ATM on the second floor at the GRB.  Wristbands will be available for sale on Friday night between 5pm-8pm at the main tournament desk between Hall A & B or on tournament day Hall B, C or D ticket booths.  Entrance and exit to the convention center will be through Halls B, C & D only.  Offsite locations will also be selling tickets at the door.

PLAYING SITES:
The main site will be the George R Brown Convention Center.  Additional sites will be used as needed:  FAST Complex, Willowbrook Sports Complex, Texas Tornados Training Facility, Spike Sport and Skyline.  See the map of venues page for addresses and directions.

GRB PARKING:
Parking is available in various paid parking lots as well as under Discovery Green Park directly across from the Convention Center.  NO PARKING IN THE BACK OF THE CONVENTION CENTER – there is NO ENTRY from that side of the building.  Parking Meters downtown are NOT free on Saturdays.  Prices range but most lots are between $10-$12 per day.  You will have to walk around the convention center if you park behind the loading docks.  There is no entrance in the back.

COLLEGE COACHES:
Please have college ID ready to show at entrance.  University Athlete will be providing college coaches information for $75/first coach and $30/each additional coach.  Registration will be through the University Athlete website starting one week prior to the event.

Talent Showcase – Players graduating in  2012 – 2015 have the opportunity to get exposure to college coaches from around the country on Friday night at 5:30pm, March 9th at the GRB.  Please visit www.clubsouthvball.com to preregister or to find out more information.

Divisions (please pay attention to which division you register for because it may be difficult to change after registration closes):

  • Open – this is the best division and should only be entered by the most competitive teams. Only top teams in the club.  Teams in this division should be consistently a #1 team in pool play.
  • Elite – this is a very competitive division and should be entered by top teams or second teams in the club.  Teams in this division should be a consistent #1 or #2 team in pool play.
  • Club – if you don’t qualify as an open or elite team this is your division.
